Duro-Glide® Acetal

Duro-Glide® Acetal is a high-performance engineering material designed for excellent dimensional stability, low friction, and dependable wear resistance in demanding industrial environments. Ideal for wet applications and precision-machined parts, it is available in both acetal copolymer and acetal homopolymer grades to meet a wide range of performance requirements.

Acetal copolymer (POM-C) offers much less centerline porosity than acetal homopolymer, along with superior hot water resistance, greater resistance to strong alkalies and thermal-oxidative degradation, improved impact resistance, and much lower outgassing. Acetal homopolymer (POM-H), commonly known by the Delrin® trade name, provides higher crystallinity, greater hardness, higher strength, improved stiffness, excellent creep resistance, and a lower thermal expansion rate.

Why Choose Duro-Glide® Acetal?
    • Excellent dimensional stability for precision parts and machined components.

    • Ideal for wear applications in wet environments.

    • Low friction surface supports smooth, reliable part movement.

    • Acetal copolymer offers less centerline porosity than homopolymer acetal.

    • Superior hot water resistance and better resistance to strong alkalies with copolymer grades.

    • Homopolymer grades provide greater hardness, strength, stiffness, and creep resistance.

    • Low moisture absorption helps maintain performance in washdown and humid conditions.

    • Excellent machinability for tight-tolerance industrial parts.

Performance Benefits

Duro-Glide® Acetal combines strength, stiffness, low moisture absorption, and wear resistance to support long-lasting performance in industrial and consumer applications. Its dimensional stability makes it especially valuable where part accuracy, repeatability, and reliable operation are critical.

Material Options

Duro-Glide® Acetal is available in both POM-C and POM-H grades so users can select the balance of chemical resistance, impact resistance, stiffness, and mechanical strength needed for the job. Copolymer grades are often preferred where reduced porosity, hot water resistance, and lower outgassing are priorities, while homopolymer grades are chosen for increased rigidity and strength.

We offer 4′ x 10′ standard sheets in thicknesses from 1/4″ up to 4″. Custom cuts are also available.

Common Applications

Used in bearings, bushings, hinge pins, wear pads, scraper blades, dispensing heads, cams, pistons, handles, pump parts, washers, sprockets, and gears.
